I'm Jenn Barosa, a software developer with over 8 years of experience building software across nearly every domain. I love architecting systems that do something cool or solve real problems, whether that's a custom video engine, a reinforcement learning pipeline, or a compiler for a language I designed myself.

My experience spans the full spectrum: web applications, mobile apps, desktop software, compilers, embedded systems, machine learning models, and cloud infrastructure. I've shipped production code in C++, Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, C#, and more.

What I Work On

I have a deep passion for user experience and low-level performance.

Some of my recent projects include FURIOUS, a custom video editor and effects engine built in C++ with a Lua scripting pipeline; Jelt, a programming language I designed with C interoperability and compile-time evaluation; and SpigotPlex RL, a system for training reinforcement learning agents inside Minecraft using PyTorch.

Technical Background

I'm comfortable working at every level of the stack. On the frontend, I build with React, Next.js, and TypeScript. On the backend, I reach for C++, Go, Rust, and Python depending on the problem. For systems-level work, I work mainly in C++. For ML, I use PyTorch and the standard Python ecosystem.

Cloud-wise, I have experience with both GCP and AWS, building deployment pipelines, serverless functions, and managed infrastructure.
